SOUTH WEST GRADUATE PHOTOGRAPHY PRIZE 2018

The SWGPP was actually my favorite exhibition. Intimate and small, but full of colour and life. The photographer who stood out the most for me was definitely Ellie Ramsden and intrigued me to explore more of her work. As I looked through I started to pick up and adore the way Ramsden captures peoples personality and aura through her lens. It’s exactly the kind of portrait photography I have been trying to look into and engage with. Her images make it feel as if shes just caught the right thing at the right time, always.
I love attention to detail, and that’s what most of these photographers displayed in this exhibition highlighted.

It’s nice to see photographers focusing on women, primarily women of colour.
