RIVER THAMES – RESEARCH

When reading up about the River Thames, I was particularly interested with one article I read, written by Richard Gray at the Telegraph in 2010 about the transformation of the River Thames and how it went from being declared “biologically dead”  to winning the International Theiss River prize of £22,000 fifty years later.
abcThis transformation of the river really piqued my intrigue and led me to wonder if there were any parts of the River Thames that were exceptionally clean and well maintained and also the opposite, if any were left ‘dirty’ or ‘littered’ and how the two would contrast with one another.
A few questions to answer:
– Who maintains the cleanliness of the river?
– Do specific areas or regions affect how well maintained the River is and how do they differ from each other? what are their methods?
– How do things like plastic or waste affect the river?
