In terms of the studio set up for my shoot, I didn’t want anything too dramatic or overbearing as I want the subject to be the main focus with the audience’s full attention on them. I settled for the white, beige or grey backdrop of perhaps a simple drape and a stool positioned in a particular marked spot that wouldn’t shift anywhere else. I want the participants to feel relaxed and at ease so I don’t want a dark set-up and I feel these neutral and light colours will open up the atmosphere of the set.
I have contemplated over and over about the use of a stand up mirror for the project to vary the interactions between myself, the participants and the mirror.
I am still debating the use of it.
