These are some examples of portrait angles and poses that I intend to explore in my own photoshoot of the eyewear and references that I think work quite well in displaying a level of elegance and subtlety which is what I aim to achieve with my own photographs.
These black and white images are really graceful and gorgeous in the way they have been orchestrated, through styling, angles and lighting, and even the black and white refines down the image even more so that it exhibits the nature of the models personality and natural beauty. These images actually make me want to consider a black and white edit for my own billboard, as that is something I didn’t much notice in the campaigns and billboards I referenced, but at the same time, I also want to make the most of location shooting and natural bright sunlight. However, I will experiment with both colour and black/white editing just to see which works better.
I always appreciate a good side profile portrait and it’s definitely an angle I want to incorporate in my workings towards a final billboard image. I think a side profile or slightly tilted side angle might bode well with my product because of the contrast of colour on the sunglasses arms (or temples as they are formally named) that are white and gold, as opposed to the frames which are black. This would be a great detail to emphasise on in my photographs.
I also am drawn towards this pose displayed by Cara Delevingne of the sunglasses tilted down the nose, revealing the eyes. This is a great way to expose details in eye make-up for added effect and also entices a mysterious vibe from the model that is easily picked up by the viewer and can maintain attention on the image for even longer than normal.
